We decided to bring the wives along and make it a family trip. Sarah had never experienced any kind of waterfowl hunting before and I knew she would love it. When we got there, they told us that they had some ponds that were absolutely full of ducks. The plan was to wait for them to leave the ponds to go feed and catch them coming back about an hour or so after daylight. We watched and filmed the ducks leaving the pond before we got in the blinds. It was an incredible sight, there were literally thousands of ducks coming off this one pond.

After the ducks had left, we climbed into our cedar blinds and waited for them to start coming back. It didn't take long before we had ducks circling. Before we knew it, we were firing off shots and watching ducks fall. There was hardly any time when there weren't ducks flying. By 10:00 AM, we had killed 39 ducks and 33 of them were mallards. It was without a doubt the best duck hunt I had ever been on, and I even killed my first pintail. The pintail will definitely be going on the wall. We had a blast and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again.
