Yesterday afternoon was one of the coldest afternoons that I have spent in a deer stand. The temperature in the truck read 20 degrees, which I can usually handle. However, the wind was howling and kept me chilled for the entire hunt. If I wasn't seeing any deer then I probably would have been miserable, but that wasn't the case. I got in the stand at about 2:00 and saw the first deer right around 2:30. I was seeing deer periodically throughout the entire hunt. The total number of deer = 11. The total number of bucks = 0. Well, that's probably not entirely true. There were a couple of button bucks but nothing with antlers. I was a little bummed, but that's hunting. I'll be heading out to the same spot this afternoon, hoping for some better luck.

This is our last week of shotgun before the last week of muzzleloader starts....and the wind is killing me too with a full moon. Our temps are suppose to be in the negatives this weekend. UGH! Good luck filling tags!
Good Luck to you. Late season is tough but it can also be rewarding
