People all across the country are stepping over logs, crossing creeks, walking through tall grass, and sitting up next to trees, all in hopes of getting a shot at a big Tom turkey. After a long winter, most hunters can't wait for spring to arrive. The woods fill with the sounds of gobbling turkeys, but with spring also comes snakes. The temperatures are really starting to heat up and the snakes are out and moving around. Both of these photos were taken this weekend while turkey hunting. This snake was not poisonous, but seeing him made me pay more attention to where I was stepping. So remember, be careful out there. Watch where you're walking and always check before you set up and try to kill that Longbeard.
